boundaries
…let me tell you
something about BOUNDARIES.
As a Mental Health Man on TED, I feel it is my duty to inform you
about ways of maintaining balance.
As a comedian, I feel it is my duty to tell you the uncensored truth.
So here it goes.
I have seen a ton of mental breakdowns this year. Good people from
within my own circle have cracked under the pressure that is the
modern world. It is my personal opinion that a big factor of ‘the rise
of destabilization’, has to do with the blurring of boundaries around
the use of technology.
Technology is awesome.
In fact, it’s probably the only reason you know who I am.
It’s something that brings us together,
but it can also be something that can leave us disconnected from
nature and at times isolated.
Let me share my boundaries regarding technology, when it comes to communication.
One day a week, I will be totally out of communication, taking a
technology fast.
If you can’t deal with this, hold yourself.
When I am in communication it will be from around 9am to 5pm.
After 5pm I won’t be on email. This is a boundary.
If it is extremely important feel free to call me.
If you’re a girl stalking me, there are support groups for that.
You may ask: Does email go to your phone?
The answer: Maybe.
This last year I experimented with many kinds of smart phones (iphone,
android, ect.), and experienced unusually high feelings of abnormal
physical health right when I turned it on; including problems with
vision, chest pain, and general irritability. This maybe a result of
RF, (Radio Frequency) which all smart phones have. But I’ll let you be
the judge by Googling: “RF fields”, the top link is courtesy of the
United States Government.
Am I sensitive?
-Yes.
This is a strength.
Am I anti-technology?
Let’s say this: I have concerns. Someday it will be a show. It will be
called UnPlug.
If you ever feel like this world is too much, turn everything off and
run outside.
That’s what I do.
And hey, if reading any of this makes you say, “This guy’s crazy!”
Go ahead and say it, but just so you know, I beat you to it…by about ten years.
ONE,
Breath,
and Boundaries.
